I am a mystery to meeeee

Arrrrrrr.... I have the worst luck with this job thing. I have been interviewed a few times now, and it seems that even by lying and saying that I am not going to go to school in sept, people must know anyway. I mean why else would they pass me up? Am I too old, or over-qualified? Maybe they are calling Redden, and ML is giving me a bad rap? Who knows... All I know is this: I am still going to go to school come hell or high water this fall. I have put in too much time and effort to not go.

I now have a flickr account. It's awesome, it rules. Check it at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaru72/

Leave me some comments too!!

New News and other stuff

Wow, busy days have just ripped on by, here is some news from the past few days:

I have been Accepted to the ECE Program at Langara College!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAW!!!!! Can I get a Hells YEAH, can I get DOOZIN IT LAAARRRRGE!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to find $350.00 for my commitment fee by June 19th. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, Richard and me Mom, are hopefully going to help me out.

EI, is getting on my nerves. Elaine and I want to move out, and I just know that they won't give me enough money to get that done. I need to find a FT job that pays well, save some cash, move out, and then see if I can get a Student Loan from the Gov't. I figure that at least the Gov't would give me enough to match what I would make with a FT job. Elaine will obviously have to find a PT job, just to help keep us ahead of the curve. Any advice folks??

The Chapparal is up and running. It still has drivetrain issues, but I think that to fix that I'll need to replace the cog set and chain, it skips like a mofo, and it drives me NUTS! Also, I think I need a heavier spring in the fork, and for the shock, not to mention a set of matching 2.5 tires would be nice too. Oh and while we're at it, I still have to see about swapping the brakes with Elaine's bike.

Thats about it folks, it's going to be a good weekend. But I gotta find a J O B!!!

Why be good?

Fahkin 'Ell mates...

Somedays I just want to go all bad guy, and tear shit up. Being a nice guy just does not pay some days you know? Like today. My poor wife tries on a top at Old Navy and forgets her glasses on a table, she remembers about 5 min later, and we go back, and they're gone. No-one turns them in, and she's out one set of glasses. Glasses that are of no use to anyone else. Some BITCH ASS FOOL TOOK HER GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Frackers... That pisses me right the fuck off.

I am choked, supremely. Hopefully I'll ride on Saturday, and get the devil out, and the good Lord back in.

Oooh La La..

I know that that title makes no sense, but it doesn't matter. I am having a wonky day, and I'm feeling cheeky. So here we go:

Wednesday I rode in the Delta Watershed with Sir Jim. I had no choice but to take the GreenMachine, my hardtail, into the forest. GM had never been on dirt save for some DJ/BMX action at Abbotsford, and it usually sees time in the urban environment. Let me tell you (heh) that bike is a trail Killer!!!!!!!!! Seeing as how it's light and nimble, it hit the upper Simon's jumps with me holding on with a huge grin smacked on me gobby. I had a damn good time on the GM, and I seem to be getting better in the jumping realm. As Jim said: "You've got racer style" Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

The next day, Elaine and I had Jim and his Fiance over for dinner. What scrumptious dinner did I create you ask? Well, let me tell you! We had: Angel Hair Pasta with Haddock kebabs, and Chicken Souvlaki kebabs. I also made Asparagus wrapped in Proscuitto seared in Olive Oil, and Balsamic Vinegar. Jim and Breanne brought a Salad. It was some gooooooooooooooooooood food. I love having folks over for dinner. It's always good times!

In other news, I will be working at Jellybean Park on an "on call" basis. This is a totally rad thing. I went in there early on in the week to drop off a letter to Ms. Olga (the director) stating that I would like to be considered as a possible volunteer for subbing for teachers that would go on vacation or for feild trips. Needless to say that was a great idea of mine, as Ms. Olga called me today and has me slotted in to do 2 weeks!!!!!!! Yessssssss

So that's about it y'all. Get OUT AND RIDE FOLKS!!!!!!

I have a Chapparal now.

I have a Chapparal now. It's blue, but I want to repaint it already and get rid of that nasty thing on the head tube. It has a Pike fork, that has 5.5" of travel. It is sorta light, but strong as well. It's a bike that I can ride anywhere, anytime. I can go ride XC in Pacific Spirit Park, I can go do some All Mountain at SFU, or I can do some Freeride Lite in the 'Shed, and Whistler too. How cool is that? It's damn cool that's what. Here's a pic:

New Skewl Dawgs!!!!!!!!!

I have done it.

I have registered for School, for ECE. I have signed up for 11 months of straight schooling. 8 to 5:30... Homework, exams...

And you know what? I am DAMN PROUD OF IT!!!!!! Can I get a HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

I have a couple more hurdles left to clear:
    1. Have interviews with the ECE Faculty
    2. Get accepted to the Program
    3. Give my research package to EI
    4. Get approved by EI, and recieve funding.

Thats it y'all, I'll be a student come this September (if all goes well with EI). It's an awesome feeling to be doing something that I'll love and that I'll want to do for a long time. It's my dream, not some one else's, and I am pulling it off on my own. "I did it my waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!" hahahahaaaaaa...

In other news, I may soon own a BAnshee Chapparal. I hope that this deal goes thru soon. It'll mean that I can go ride All-Mountain stylee again. That Devinci is a nice bike, don't get me wrong but, it takes some serious logistics to get out and riding it in it's true environment. I don't do that bike justice anymore. I need to go ride some XC and all-rounder stuff. It's what I used to do, and it's what I want to do more of in the future.

So here's to long rides!!!!!!!!! The kind where I'll pedal up, and rip down!!!!!!!
